Well, it's official: my historical novel 1871 is now available on Amazon. It should be available soon on Barnes and Noble's Nook, Sony's Reader, and a number of other e-book stores.Before you ask, it's not available in print, at least not at this stage. I’m shopping it around, and I’d love to see it get picked up, but that’s easier said than done.
Hello Peter! I wish I had known about your book when I was researching the Fire for my book It Happened in Chicago. I have another book coming out later this year called Chicago Curiosities, and I would love to include a 50-word sidebar about Daniel Quirk and his saloon. I have access to the historical Chicago Tribune but haven't found any articles on the incident.

Absolutely. I would have to check my notes (which I don't have handy at the moment) but off the top of my head, I believe it was in "Fabulous Chicago" by Emmett Dedmon, or possibly "The Great Chicago Fire" by Robert Cromie.
